Astoria Acting Workshop is a Pop-Up Workshop designed for Actors living in Astoria, Queens. Why not sharpen your acting skills in your own backyard? Save yourself time and money while working on your craft.
Currently offering the following Workshops:
"Relaxation and Sensory Work" Workshop
Ever heard of Method Acting? Want to explore the fundamentals of “The Method” training? In this workshop; you will be taken through a guided relaxation followed by engaging each of the five senses through a gradual progression of a sense-by-sense explorative exercise. This class is for all levels of actors and artists.
"Movement for the Actor" Workshop
Get out of your head and into your body! In this workshop we will activate the 7 Chakra points one by one through explorative movement exercises. Strengthening the actor's concentration, and imagination. This class is for all levels of actors and artists.
Audition Monologue Workshop
We should have at least 8 Theatre Monologues in our back pocket! Actors will work on an audition monologue, receiving feedback and applying adjustments. Each actor's time will vary based on the number of attendees. Can be a Contemporary or Shakespearean Monologue. Early work to advanced work.
Actor Warm-Up Workshop
What is your "game day" ritual? Actors will leave the workshop with the tools on how to prepare before a gig or audition. Consisting of Movement, Voice and Speech, Relaxation and Drop-in exercises.
Script Analysis Workshop
Mean what you say and say what you mean! Acting is more than just memorizing lines. In this workshop we will be breaking down a scene from a play beat by beat understanding its circumstances. Beginner actors are highly encouraged to attend.
